Gospel Reading For The Healing Message: Luke 16:19-31
"There was once a rich man who dressed in the most expensive clothes and lived in great luxury every day. There was also a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, who used to be brought to the rich man's door, hoping to eat the bits of food that fell from the rich man's table. Even the dogs will come and lick his sores. The poor man died and was carried by the angels to sit beside Abraham at the feast in heaven. The rich man died and was buried, and in Hades, where he was in great pain, he looked up and saw Abraham, far away, with Lazarus at his side. So he called out, 'Father Abraham! Take pity on me, and send Lazarus to dip his finger in some water and cool off my tongue, because I am in great pain in this fire!' But Abraham said, 'Remember, my son, that in your lifetime you were given all the good things, while Lazarus got all the bad things. But now he is enjoying himself here, while you are in pain. Besides all that, there is a deep pit lying between us, so that those who want to cross over from here to you cannot do so, nor can anyone cross over to us from where you are.' The rich man said, 'Then I beg you, father Abraham, send Lazarus to my father's house, where I have five brothers. Let him go and warn them so that they, at least, will not come to this place of pain.' Abraham said, 'Your brothers have Moses and the prophets to warn them; your brothers should listen to what they say.' The rich man answered, 'That is not enough, father Abraham! But if someone were to rise from death and go to them, then they would turn from their sins.' But Abraham said, 'If they will not listen to Moses and the prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone were to rise from death.' "
The Healing Message: Seven (7) things to remember so that we can avoid the fate of the rich man.
1) Remember that each one of us has a responsibility to one another.
Your life is my life. My life is your life. Our lives came from one Father, one God. We must take care of each other.
We must give help when we can.
But Abraham said, 'Remember, my son, that in your lifetime you were given all the good things, while Lazarus got all the bad things. But now he is enjoying himself here, while you are in pain.'-Luke 16:25
2) Remember that everything we do to our brothers/sisters, we do to God.
"When the Son of Man comes as King and all the angels with him, he will sit on his royal throne, and the people of all the nations will be gathered before him. Then he will divide them into two groups, just as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the righteous people at his right and the others at his left. Then the King will say to the people on his right, 'Come, you that are blessed by my Father! Come and possess the kingdom which has been prepared for you ever since the creation of the world. I was hungry and you fed me, thirsty and you gave me a drink; I was a stranger and you received me in your homes, naked and you clothed me; I was sick and you took care of me, in prison and you visited me.' The righteous will then answer him, 'When, Lord, did we ever see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you a drink? When did we ever see you a stranger and welcome you in our homes, or naked and clothe you? When did we ever see you sick or in prison, and visit you?' The King will reply, 'I tell you, whenever you did this for one of the least important of these followers of mine, you did it for me!'"-Matthew 25:31-40
3) Remember to listen and obey the scriptures written by the prophets especially the commands of Jesus Christ about life.
"I am telling you the truth: those who hear my words and believe in him who sent me have eternal life. They will not be judged, but have already passed from death to life. I am telling you the truth: the time is coming-the time has already come-when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear it will come to life."-John 5:24-25
4) Remember that the time of our death has already been set.
Rich or poor, in whatever situation a person may be, when the time comes to die, that man is going to die. There is nothing that can be done about it and there will be no second chance. So while we are still alive, we must cherish life, love and enjoy the blessing of life and all the good things that comes with it. Give importance to life, especially the life of an unborn, for authority is not given to anyone of us to decide whether a fetus should be born or not. So while we are still alive, live a life worthy of God's kingdom.
Everyone must die once, and after that be judged by God.-Hebrews 9:27
"...those who have done good will rise and live, and those who have done evil will rise and be condemned."-John 5:29
5) Remember that the choice is ours.
"Today I am giving you a choice between good and evil, between life and death. If you obey the commands of the Lord your God, which I give you today, if you love him, obey him, and keep all his laws, then you will prosper and become a nation of many people. The Lord your God will bless you in the land that you are about to occupy."-Deuteronomy 30:15-16
6) Remember that God's command is to choose life.
"I am now giving you the choice between life and death, between God's blessing and God's curse, and I call heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Choose life. Love the Lord your God, obey him and be faithful to him, and then you and your descendants will live long in the land that he promised to give your ancestors, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob."-Deuteronomy 30:19-20
God has given us the choice, but God knows that human nature is faulty and will make the wrong choice most of the time, so his command of choosing life instead of death is a guideline to help us make the right choice. But even so, the Devil, who is the father of all lies, continues to work hard to steer the human being away from making the right choice and a lot of people today are being on the Devil's side. They choose death, instead of life. They choose God's curse instead of God's blessing. They are blinded by their so-called intelligence. Intelligence which is foolishness in the eyes of the Almighty God. People continue to ignore God. People continue to disobey him.
Children are God's gift to us. They are not a curse. They deserve to live. A fetus in the mother's womb is a blessing from God. No matter how the fetus was conceived, it is God's blessing. It must be allowed to live. A person who does otherwise is giving in to the Devil's lies. That person has fallen into the culture of death and will reap the fruits of his work, the curse from God.
"If you obey the Lord your God and faithfully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, he will make you greater than any other nation on earth. Obey the Lord your God and all these blessings will be yours:
"The Lord will bless your towns and your fields.
"The Lord will bless you with many children, with abundant crops, and with many cattle and sheep.
"The Lord will bless your grain crops and the food you prepare from them.
"The Lord will bless everything you do.
"The Lord will defeat your enemies when they attack you. They will attack from one direction, but they will run from you in all directions.
"The Lord your God will bless your work and fill your barns with grain. He will bless you in the land that he is giving you.
"If you obey the Lord your God and do everything he commands, he will make you his own people, as he has promised. Then all the peoples on earth will see that the Lord has chosen you to be his own people, and they will be afraid of you. The Lord will give you many children, many cattle, and abundant crops in the land that he promised your ancestors to give you. He will send rain in season from his rich storehouse in the sky and bless all your work, so that you will lend to many nations, but you will not have to borrow from any."-Deuteronomy 28:1-12

Gospel Reading For The Healing Message: Luke 10:25-37
A teacher of the Law came up and tried to trap Jesus. "Teacher," he asked, "what must I do to receive eternal life?" Jesus answered him, "What do the Scriptures say? How do you interpret them?" The man answered, " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind'; and 'Love your neighbor as you love yourself.' " "You are right," Jesus replied; "do this and you will live." But the teacher of the Law wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, "Who is my neighbor?"
Jesus answered, "There was once a man who was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho when robbers attacked him, stripped him, and beat him up, leaving him half dead. It so happened that a priest was going down that road; but when he saw the man, he walked on by on the other side. In the same way a Levite also came there, went over and looked at the man, and then walked on by on the other side. But a Samaritan who was traveling that way came upon the man, and when he saw him, his heart was filled with pity. He went over to him, poured oil and wine on his wounds and bandaged them; then he put the man on his own animal and took him to an inn, where he took care of him. The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper. "Take care of him,' he told the innkeeper,' and when I come back this way, I will pay you whatever else you spend on him.'"
And Jesus concluded, "In your opinion, which one of these three acted like a neighbor toward the man attacked by the robbers?" The teacher of the Law answered, "The one who was kind to him." Jesus replied, "You go, then, and do the same."
The Healing Message: How can we prove that we love God?
1) Remember that your life is your neighbor's life too.
Our lives came from one God. The life that God gave to us is the same life he gives to our neighbors.
2) Remember that God looks at everyone fairly.
"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your friends, hate your enemies.' But now I tell you: love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may become the children of your Father in heaven. For he makes his sun to shine on bad and good people alike, and gives rain to those who do good and to those who do evil."-Matthew 5:43-45
3) Remember that love is not proven by mere words but by deeds.
We know that we have left death and come over into life; we know it because we love others. Those who do not love are still under the power of death. Those who hate others are murderers, and you know that murderers do not have eternal life in them. This is how we know what love is: Christ gave his life for us. We too, then, ought to give our lives for others! If we are rich and see others in need, yet close our hearts against them, how can we claim that we love God? My children, our love should not be just words and talk; it must be true love, which shows itself in action.-1 John 3:14-18
Show your love by your actions. Show your love for life by your deeds. If you love life, then you love God. If you go against life, then you go against God, because God is life. And anyone who go against God and life, falls under the curse.
4) Remember to obey God's commands.
Whoever believes that Jesus is the Messiah is a child of God; and whoever loves a father loves his child also. This is how we know that we love God's children: it is by loving God and obeying his commands. For our love for God means that we obey his commands. And his commands are not too hard for us, because every child of God is able to defeat the world. And we win the victory over the world by means of our faith. Who can defeat the world? Only the person who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.-1 John 5:1-5
5) Remember that whoever hates his brother or his sister does not really love God. If he says he loves God, he is lying.
We love because God first loved us. If we say we love God, but hate others, we are liars. For we cannot love God, whom we have not seen, if we do not love others, whom we have seen. The command that Christ has given us is this: whoever loves God must love others also.-1 John 4:19-21
6) Remember that whatever we do to our neighbor, we do to God.
"When the Son of Man comes as King and all the angels with him, he will sit on his royal throne, and the people of all the nations will be gathered before him. Then he will divide them into two groups, just as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the righteous people at his right and the others at his left.
7) Remember that for someone who loves, there is no fear.
If we declare that Jesus is the Son of God, we live in union with God and God lives in union with us. And we ourselves know and believe the love which God has for us.
God is love, and those who live in love live in union with God and God lives in union with them. Love is made perfect in us in order that we may have courage on the Judgment Day; and we will have it because our life in this world is the same as Christ's. There is no fear in love; perfect love drives out all fear. So then, love has not been made perfect in anyone who is afraid, because fear has to do with punishment.-1 John 4:15-18
