Gospel Reading For The Healing Message: Luke 18:1-8
Then Jesus told them a parable about their need to pray always and not to lose heart. He said, “In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor had respect for people. In that city there was a widow who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Grant me justice against my opponent.’ For a while he refused; but later he said to himself, ‘Though I have no fear of God and no respect for anyone, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will grant her justice, so that she may not wear me out by continually coming.’” And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God grant justice to his chosen ones who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long in helping them? I tell you, he will quickly grant justice to them. And yet, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”
The Healing Message: 7 Good News
1) God will not refuse to give his blessings to someone who doesn't give up in asking him.
2) When Jesus returns, the first people he will look for are those who yearn for his coming, those who have faith in him for nothing pleases God but a person with faith. It's what matters.
3) When Jesus returns, we will all see him face to face, riding in the clouds.
"Then they will see ‘the Son of Man coming in a cloud’ with power and great glory."-Luke 21:27
They said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking up toward heaven? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”-Acts 1:11
Look! He is coming with the clouds; every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and on his account all the tribes of the earth will wail. So it is to be. Amen.-Revelation 1:7
4) Jesus will save those who eagerly wait for him.
And just as it is appointed for mortals to die once, and after that the judgment, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin, but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.-Hebrews 9:27-28
"And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also."-John 14:3
5) God wants everyone to be saved.
But do not ignore this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day. The Lord is not slow about his promise, as some think of slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish, but all to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a loud noise, and the elements will be dissolved with fire, and the earth and everything that is done on it will be disclosed. Since all these things are to be dissolved in this way, what sort of persons ought you to be in leading lives of holiness and godliness,...-2 Peter 3:8-11
6) Each one will be judged according to what he has done.
"For the Son of Man is to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay everyone for what has been done."-Matthew 16:27
"I am coming soon; hold fast to what you have, so that no one may seize your crown."-Revelation 3:11
"Do not be astonished at this; for the hour is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and will come out—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation."-John 5:28-29
7) The person who remains faithful to the end will be saved.
"Then many will fall away, and they will betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because of the increase of lawlessness, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. And this good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the world, as a testimony to all the nations; and then the end will come."-Matthew 24:10-14
